About Cristela Alonzo
Cristela Alonzo is a stand-up comedian originally from the border town in south Texas of San Juan, TX.
Cristela has appeared on Conan, Gabriel Iglesias' Stand-Up Revolution, Showtime's Legally Brown, Last Comic Standing and Live at Gotham.
Cristela is one of the most popular stand-up comedians in the college market. In 2012, she showcased at the NACA (National Association of Campus Activities) national convention in Charlotte, NC, and was the most requested act of the convention. In the past three years, she has performed for almost 300 colleges.
Aside from stand-up, Cristela has written for Comedy Central, MSNBC.COM, won awards (including Best Film at the Boston Comedy Festival) for a musical she wrote ("TGIF: The Musical") and had one of her sketches named's "Five Funniest Sketches Of The Decade."
Cristela made her acting debut co-starring on FX's Sons of Anarchy.
2013 has proven to be her busiest year to date with Cristela named "One of The 50 Comedians You Should and WILL Know" by New York Magazine's and being invited to perform at the Bonnaroo Music Festival and the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. Cristela also taped The Half Hour, her first half hour special in Boston this past February and premiered in June on Comedy Central.
Cristela is based in Los Angeles, CA and when not on the road, you can find her performing locally at various clubs around LA, including her home club, The Comedy and Magic Club in Hermosa Beach, CA.
